I started photographing this trio of nuns as they left an ice cream/gelato bar along a narrow shopping street on a summer day in 2007 in Florence, Italy. They were obviously enjoying the warm afternoon and their cones as they window-shopped. Then they stopped, fascinated by this uniform shop, and I made this picture.
